Caring for Our Church

✝️ A Gathering of Hands, Hearts, and Scripture

A group of church members gathered in the fellowship hall to create crosses to place over our sanctuary windows for the Lenten and Easter season. Over two days, Emily, Amy, Charlotte, Linda, Greg, Jaime, Sharon, Sue, and Trish worked side by side, shaping wire frames, wrapping them in layers of paper ribbon, and sealing them with a finishing spray. Each cross was complemented with changeable ribbons to reflect the seasons of the church year.

 Crafting with Purpose

As we worked, we talked about the verses in Scripture that have carried us, challenged us, or spoken to us in meaningful ways. Choosing only one verse each was harder than expected—God’s Word is rich, and many passages have shaped our lives. Still, each person selected a verse that felt especially personal. These verses were printed, framed, and placed beneath the crosses as reminders of the sacrifice and gifts the Lord has given and continues to give.

 Fellowship Rooted in Christ

What made the time truly special wasn’t just the creativity or the finished crosses—it was the fellowship. We come from different backgrounds, with different stories and seasons of life, yet we share a deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ. When Christians gather, something sacred happens: conversations deepen, burdens lighten, and hearts draw closer to God and to one another.

A Visible Sign of an Invisible Grace

The crosses now hanging in our sanctuary are more than decorations. They are symbols of our shared faith, our time together, and the Scriptures that guide us. They remind us that Christ’s love binds us together and that His sacrifice is at the center of everything we do.

Honoring Mary’s Memory Through a Gift of Love

Our church family is deeply grateful for the generous gift given by our beloved member, Bob Johnson, in honor of his late wife, Mary. Mary was a beautiful and creative soul whose love for the Lord was evident in all she did. Bob and Mary shared many years of deep devotion to one another, and his gift reflects both his love for her and their shared love for Christ’s church.

Through Bob’s kindness, the sanctuary now has new chairs and new carpet—updates that will bless our congregation for years to come. A dedicated group of church members gathered to receive the delivery, remove the oldest chairs from the fellowship hall, and move the existing sanctuary chairs to their new home. Their teamwork and joyful spirit made the day feel like a true celebration of community.

While we are thankful for these improvements, our greatest gratitude is for Bob and Mary themselves. As we sit in these new chairs and walk across the refreshed sanctuary, we do so with hearts full of appreciation for Mary’s life and the love she poured into this church. Her memory continues to shine brightly among us, and this gift stands as a testament to her faith and the love she and Bob shared.

May these updates remind us not only of her legacy, but also of the beauty of giving, the strength of community, and the enduring love of Christ.
