Missions

Coastal Baptist Church is a church that loves missions. We are based upon Faith Promises, which means our missions program is funded by our church and not a collection of churches. We choose who and when we will support a ministry and our wonderful members give their promises to the church each Sunday to support the missionaries and programs that we choose. Each year we ask our members to pray and decide what they will give to missions each week, and through this giving, we give to support God's ministries throughout the world.

The Schrock Family in The Ivory Coast (Cote d'Ivore)

The Schrock family is faithfully serving as missionaries in the Ivory Coast, and many of us were blessed to meet them during their visit last year. Matthew and Susanna, along with their children Selah (3) and Lukas (2), were a joy to get to know. Their family has now grown again—on January 31, they welcomed their newest daughter, Nichole Annette, born in the Ivory Coast.

The Schrocks arrived in the country on December 4. Although this is a new chapter for Matthew, Susanna is returning to the place where she grew up. Her parents have served in the Ivory Coast for many years, and her father continues to pastor there. He will be mentoring and assisting Matthew and Susanna as they begin their ministry.

Matthew has been diligently studying French and is already able to preach in the language, while Susanna is fluent. They are stepping into this work with strong preparation and a wonderful support system. Please continue to pray for their health, safety, and for God’s provision as they serve.

If you would like to support their ministry financially, donations may be sent to:

Becca Pape

Becca Pape serves as a missionary to the Deaf in Brazil, faithfully sharing the Gospel with a community close to her heart. She learned sign language in Panama and has been studying a new sign language since arriving in Brazil.

Becca’s passion for missions began early in life. She grew up, partially, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where her father served for many years. It was there that she learned not only the life of ministry but also the joy of serving others. This experience shaped her calling and prepared her for the unique work God has given her today.

Now in Brazil, Becca continues that legacy—reaching the Deaf with the love of Christ, building relationships, and helping others grow in their faith.

Here are the last two reports from Becca's work:    January 2026              February 2026

Missionary Leadership Spotlight: Phillip Pritchard

Phillip Pritchard serves as the Director of Preach Evangelistic Ministries, providing leadership, guidance, and vision for a ministry dedicated to spreading the Gospel around the world. Though he is currently serving in the PEM office in Missouri, Phillip has spent many years in active field ministry. His firsthand experience gives him a deep understanding of the needs, challenges, and opportunities missionaries face, and he is committed to expanding the ministry’s reach for the sake of the Gospel.

Phillip was raised in Brazil, South America, where his parents—missionaries Paul and Terri Pritchard—faithfully served. It was during those formative years that Phillip came to know Christ, being saved at the age of 12 and surrendering to God’s call just four months later.

He went on to attend the Biblical School of World Evangelism, a ministry of First Baptist Church of Milford, Ohio, where he spent three years preparing for missions work. After college, Phillip and his wife, Sarah, completed a one‑year internship with Preach Evangelistic Ministries before heading to the field.

For 13 years, Phillip and Sarah ministered in Cape Verde, West Africa, serving as church planters and investing their lives in reaching people with the Gospel. Their heart for missions continues today as Phillip leads PEM with a passion shaped by years of hands‑on ministry.

Phillip and Sarah are blessed with five children—Mason, Micah, Sofia, Sadie, and Maclain—who share in their family’s love for serving the Lord.
